This Privacy Policy explains how Lantern VPN (the 'Service', 'we', or 'us') collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our mobile, desktop, or related applications (the 'App'). We process data only within the scope needed to operate the service and protect your privacy under this statement.

When you download, launch, or use the App, we may collect necessary operational data, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, device operating system version, in-app paths, connection status, and session duration. To recommend suitable routes, we may process approximate location information. These data are used for: 1. Route recommendation based on Lantern VPN node availability; 2. Performance optimization through anonymized aggregate trends; 3. Service notices such as security updates, account notices, or subscription information sent to your registered email or username.

We will only transmit aggregated anonymized data to necessary third-party partners (such as Google Play Services, Firebase, etc.) to assist us with crash analysis and feature improvements. Except in the following circumstances, we will not share your personal information with third parties: 1. Complying with legal procedures or mandatory government regulatory requirements; 2. Necessary to protect the lives and property of users or investigate fraudulent behavior; 3. Cooperating with entrusted service providers who have signed strict confidentiality agreements. If you wish to stop data collection, you simply need to remove this App via your mobile device's standard uninstall process. After uninstallation, the App will no longer generate new data collection behaviors.

User-provided data is retained during the valid service period and for a reasonable period afterward. To cancel your account or delete your profile, contact our privacy team at [email protected]. The App is not intended for children under 13; if we discover mistakenly collected child data, we will begin deletion procedures. We use access controls, encrypted transmission, and security review measures to protect confidentiality.

This Privacy Policy may be updated for regulatory, security, or business reasons. Please review this page periodically. Continued use after changes are posted means you accept the revised terms.
